Magic eyes: Vision training for children The Magic eyes approach was developed over 10 years ago by Leo Angart in response the the need for a simple process that can help children regain their natural eyesight whithout glasses or surgery. Based on his own experience of wearing glasses (- 550) for more than 26 years and recovering his own eyesight in 1991. Leo Aangart used his own experience as a spring board to develop a system where parents can work with their own children to restore their natural eyesight. Leo is one of the few, actually the only one, that works extensively with children's eyesight. There are many miracles and lots of happy parents with bright eyed kids. |

The problem with glasses Most people have the experience that when you start wearing glasses they tend to get stronger and stronger every time you visit the optometrist. We often just accept the glasses even if they make us dizzy. Have you ever wondered what's really going on when you wear glasses? Are glasses only correcting your eyesight, or are they actually influencing your eyes in other ways that makes your vision worse? Ever wondered about such things as the physics of glasses. Are they correct for all distances? Is reading with minus lenses used for near sight bad for the eyes? |

Near sight - why so much? In Taiwan a resent study revealed that an astonishing 87% of the school children there were near sighted. SIngapore and Hong Kong are not very diffrent. Compare this to the rate of near sight in Europe or in the US where it is about 17% for children less then 15 years old. Why are Chinese children so near sighted? Is it because of a genetic disposition to myopia? Or as some suggest because the buildings are so close together. New research in the field of biology shows that putting glasses on children may not be such a good thing, Also research from Israel shows that lots of near work such as reading or playing on hand held video games makes your near sight worse. |

OK lenses – are they the answer? Sounds great, doesn’t it? A pair of contact lenses that you pop in before you go to bed – take out in the morning, and as a consequence you can enjoy perfect vision all day. And with no lenses to get steamy, or foreigh bodies inside the eye – why – it’s almost like not having to wear glasses or lenses at all! And as Orthokeratology – OK for short – lenses have been around for 50 years, they must be safe and fault proof, mustn’t they? Too good to be true? Let’s look a little further. Exactly what eye conditions can they correct? How much can the eye improve? Are the effects short term or long term? Are they easy to fit? And how does the correction actually take place? Is it true that these custom-made hard lenses work by actually squashing and flattening the cornea? Is that safe? Is it true that there have been cases of corneal infection? Is it safe to keep lenses in all night? Do they pop out easily the next day? Do you still get sufficient oxygen into the eye during the night? Are OK lenses a harmless and cheaper alternative to laser surgery? Or are they not quite what they seem? |

Sleep talk The SleepTalk™ process is simple and is based on the concept that everything we do or say is a reflection of our belief and basic values about ourselves and life. Children and adults receive all sorts of mixed messages that often contradict each other. This is potentially a problem for children, especially young children. Until the age of five a child's mind absorbs everything literally. Their minds are like sponges. SleepTalk™ helps parents realize that their words have power. To encourage, to build self esteem, to build a strong awareness of who you are. So using the right language helps foster a healthy successful child. First time in Hong Kong, Joane Golding, Melbourne will present her SleepTalk™ so interested parents can learn how they can help their children grow up with confidence in themselves and become successful people. |
