Magic Eyes

Vision Training for children (aged 8 to 12 Years).

Magic eyes vision training for children is a simple yet highly effective way to restore normal vision in children. We will teach you some simple exercises that you can do together with your child. The success of this project depends a lot on parent child teamwork. Love, fun and games are the key ingredients. When vision training becomes a task it ceases to be effective.

Magic eyes classes does not bind you to lengthy and often costly therapy sessions. Our approach is to teach you exercises that are proven to be effective for your child's particular problem. No need for expensive equipment. There is nothing you have to buy or take to be successful. All the exercises are perfectly safe and can be done at home.

However, we do expect you to take the time to exercise witrh your children, It's a team work

Magic eyes vision training for children is effective for; near sight (myopia), far sight (hyperopia), astigmatism, amblyopia (lazy eye), strabismus (wantering eye) and eye coordination (eye teaming) problem.

What we do.

The Magic eyes program is developed in response to the immense need for an easy and effective methodology to address the growing prevalence of vision problems in children all over the world. Research shows that virtually all children (98.8%) at age 6 have normal eyesight. However from age 7 or 8 to the mid teen years children with near sight (myopia) skyrocket to about 25% at age 16. In some Asian countries more than 80% of school children are near sighted. One study showed that 87% of high school children in Taipei, Taiwan, was near sighted. Clearly something has to be done or in a few generations we all become totally dependent.

Magic eyes program focus on what makes a difference.
The parent child relationship is the focal point.
Natural clear vision is a birthright and everyone has it.
Vision skills are like any other skill - it's learned.
If one child can do then everyone can do it.
Progress is at the speed of life. Not faster, not slower.

The common approach to vision problems in children is to fit them with glasses. Parents know that these glasses needs to be changed sometimes more than once every year. The lens power keeps getting stronger and stronger. Obviously the solution to good eyesight is not found in optics. The glasses do correct for the lack of vision, but you are still near sighted when you take the glasses of. Nothing has been done about the real problem.

The typical childhood vision problems like near sight (myopia), far sight (hyperopia), astigmatism, eye-coordination, lazy eye (ambliopia), and deviating eye (strabismus) all respond to vision training. Magic eyes classes are especially effective if they are introduced early on.

The Magic eye program focus on the fundamental principles that works. No expensive equipment is needed, there is nothing you need to take, no surgery, only simple exercises you can do with your children at home. Think of Magic eyes exercises as "Tai Chi"for the eyes. If the exercise are too complicated or require various equipment then it becomes a therapy or rehabilitation. In some cases this may very well be what's required. However, in most cases and especially if the problem is addressed early on, children respond beautifully and walk away with Magic in their eyes.

The appropriate exercise done for a few minutes but many times, at least 10 times, during the day is far more effective than one or two hours a week. Physiologically most children can easily adapt and will respond very quickly. If it's fun they will do it!

Be part of the force that enables our children to sees their future clearly.

Workshop outline.

Leo Angart developed the Magic eyes program in response to the enormous need for simple and effective ways of dealing with the typical childhood vision problems. The outcome of Vision training is to completely restore the natural ability to see clearly and use the eyes fully.

The Magic eyes program consists of a series of fun games and exercises that are designed to develop and restore normal visual function in children. We have chosen the workshop format because we have found that this enables us to reach a large group of people and thus help as many children as possible. The more time consuming and more expensive therapy model is more suitable for difficult to treat problems. However, the waste majority of childhood vision problems can practiced safely at home.

The first Magic eyes workshop, 3 hours, focus on discovering what the vision status is. The very first activity involve checking distance visual acuity with an eye chart and then draw a maze reflecting where a child start and will subsequently monitor the progress.

Parents and children will learn simple ways of relaxing the eyes. A lost of vision problems have their root in eyestrain so it is very important to have ways of getting the energy to flow in the eyes and brain.

You will discover exactly what your child's eyesight is. If there is a adifference between the eyes and of course you will learn neat exercises for restoring normal eyesight. One of the problems that often go unnoticed is eye-coordination. This is a very important visual skill for reading. Research show that as many as 80% of children diagnosed with reading disability, including those labeled Dyslexic, lack proficiency in one or more basic vision skills.

Home work

At the end of the first day you will get homework consisting of one or two basic eye exercises that are particularly important for your child. It is now the challenge for parents to encourage and motivate the child to do the exercises. Leo Angart recommend that you do eye exercises for only a few minutes at a time, and exercise at least 10 times a day or more. Short but frequent exercise is what makes the big difference. Make time for doing as many exercises as possible during the time between the workshop days. And make it fun and rewarding for the child.

Magic eyes class with kids and their parents.

During the second day of Magic eyes workshop we celebrate the progress everyone have made. Praise and encouragement are important teaching tools. We will also review the exercises as well as answer questions from parents and children.

Many children have astigmatism so we will check for that and teach you fun ways you can get rid of that problem. Astigmatism responds very well to Vision training exercises. In most caases with children astigmatism will be gone in a few days. We have more fun exercises designed to develop good cross lateral movement as well as improve your brain function.

We will teach you ways to continue improving your eyes beyond the common 20/20. Children under 12 can easily see the 20/16 line or better. So, just for the fun of it we will go for the 20/16 line as a minimum.

Finally, while the children draw pictures, we will summarize all the exercises as well as answer any last questions. Many children will already at this point no longerneed their glasses. However, depending on how high a degree the child started out with, it may take several rounds of exercises to totally ger rid of the glasses. For example, if your child start with - 4.00 it is impossible to go to nothing in just a few days. Therefore, we will do the exercises in stages. Reducing the glasses by 0.5 or 1.00 as the child impruve.

Remember, children are born with Magic eyes.
