Astigmatism is identified on topographical images of the eye in a “bowtie” pattern (see the picture to the left). A topographical image is similar to the lines you see on a map indicating the contour of a landscape. These images are a very impressive, objective proof, of how effective eye exercises are for Astigmatism.

The images you see on this page are taken one day apart during a Magic eyes workshop in Berlin, Germany. The first image to the left shows half a diopter astigmatism ( C:  -0.50). Note the typical “bowtie” pattern which indicate the axis of astigmatism in this case 83 degrees (A: 83). The yellow and green colours show how the cornea is flatter on the sides.

The image to the right show the same eye the next day after vision training exercises. You can see that the red colour have spread indicating that the eye have returned to normal and no longer measure any astigmatism. The eye had also regained +0.25 dipter of hyperopia. This is objective proof that vision training is effective for Astigmatism.
